A wide variety of gamefish cruise its flow, from smallmouth bass, carp, northern pike, and panfish to seagoing species such as shad, herring, and striped bass making upriver runs. You might be surprised at the heft of some of the voracious stripers hauled from the lower reaches of the Merrimack not far away…
