This 100-acre farm, established by Mark and Ellen Parrlee back in 1987, employs Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and other thoughtful, ecologically conscientious agricultural methods, and offers a variety of pick-your-own experiences across its growing season.
Besides various berries, peaches, flowers, and the like, the U-pick possibilities at Parlee Farms definitely include apples: better than 20 varieties, in fact, harvested from a 19-acre apple orchard populated with Golden Delicious, Early Fuji, Royal Empire, Honey Crisp, McIntosh, and other favorites. And besides the apples themselves, a fall visit to Parlee Farms can treat you to the bone-deep delights of some apple cider donuts and warm apple crisp!
Hill Orchard
Other options within convenient day-tripping reach of Chateau Merrimack Resort & Spa include the historic, roughly 20-acre Hill Orchard (4 Hunt Rd, Westford, MA), owned by the Town of Westford, which contracts with a farm manager to preserve its working agricultural legacy.
When conditions are favorable, Hill Orchard—only about 15 minutes away from our Tyngsborough resort—offers pick-your-own apples.
Drew Farm
Not far from Hill Orchard, you can steer your way to Drew Farm (31 Tadmuck Road, Westford, MA), which supplies its U-pick visitors with such apple varieties as Cortland, McIntosh, Empire, Golden (Yellow) Delicious, Autumn Gala, Evercrisp, and Macoun.
